Fire Resistant Hydraulic Fluids
Hydraulic equipment operating near heat sources such as molten metal open flame under extreme heat conditions are the most common potential sources of fire hazard. If there is any oil leakage, it can lead to a fire hazard. Fire resistant hydraulic fluids find their usage or function in such operating conditions as an alternative to combustible mineral based hydraulic oils for ensuring safe working conditions. The unfortunate history of costly industrial fires caused by the accidental spraying of flammable petroleum hydraulic oil onto an ignition source is well documented. To prevent this danger, fire-resistant hydraulic fluids were developed. There are many types of applications for fire-resistant hydraulic fluids in the steel making process. Starting with the ovens for making coke for the blast furnace through the final rolling and coiler operations, fire-resistant fluids have provided safer working conditions in the steel mill. Other properties include dying casting industries, forging and Extruding Presses, Fork Lift Trucks, Mining, Naval Missile Launch Equipment, OffShore Rigs, etc. Hardcastle Petrofer was the first to introduce Fire Resistant Hydraulic Fluids to the Indian industry by indigenously manufacturing the product and supporting the performance through unmatched service backup.
